Last updated: July 7, 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of SceneMate, including our websites, mobile applications, audition tools, rehearsal tools, guided self-tape tools, voice features, rewards features, marketplaces, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). SceneMate is owned and operated by SageMaster Corporation, based in Alberta, Canada and Delaware, United States ("SageMaster," "we," "us," or "our").

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By creating an account, accessing the Service, subscribing, uploading content, accepting an audition invite, recording a self-tape, creating a voice, renting a voice, or otherwise using SceneMate, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

If you use SceneMate on behalf of a company, casting office, agency, production, school, studio, or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

  • You must be at least 16 years old to use SceneMate.
  • You must provide accurate account information and keep it current.
  • You are responsible for your account credentials and all activity under your account.
  • You may not share a personal account. Team and audition access must use individual accounts or allocated licenses.
  • You must notify us at hello@scenemate.actor if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. What SceneMate Provides

SceneMate helps actors and casting teams prepare, rehearse, submit, and review performance material. Features may include script upload and parsing, character and scene extraction, rehearsal scoring, coaching feedback, guided self-tapes, slate recording, scene-partner audio, voice assignment, auditions, actor invites, self-tape submissions, candidate review, rewards, voice creation, and voice rental marketplace features.

Features may vary by platform, region, subscription, feature flag, device, browser, account type, and availability of external services. We may add, modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time.

4. Subscriptions, Trials, Billing, and Licenses

  • Some features require an active subscription, team license, audition license allocation, or add-on purchase.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date through the applicable billing channel.
  • Free trials, if offered, may convert to paid subscriptions if not cancelled before the trial ends.
  • Prices, usage limits, plan features, and trial eligibility may change with reasonable notice where required by law.
  • Payments may be processed by third-party payment processors or app stores. Their terms may also apply.
  • Unless required by law or stated in a separate written policy, fees are non-refundable and cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period.

5. Auditions and Casting Workflows

Casting directors may create auditions, invite actors, assign scripts, roles, scenes, deadlines, instructions, and licenses, and review rehearsal scores, submitted self-tapes, actor notes, and review decisions. Actors may accept audition invites, rehearse assigned material, record or attach self-tapes, and submit before the applicable deadline.

  • Directors are responsible for having the right to share audition materials with invited actors.
  • Actors are responsible for submitting accurate, authorized, and appropriate materials.
  • SceneMate does not guarantee casting outcomes, callbacks, employment, representation, compensation, or selection.
  • Expired, revoked, closed, or submitted audition states may limit further action.

6. Self-Tapes, Slate, Rehearsal Scores, and AI Feedback

SceneMate can help you rehearse, record, score, and review performance material. Scores, transcripts, cue timing, coaching notes, beat analysis, and other feedback are assistive tools only. They are not guarantees of artistic quality, casting success, professional advice, or objective truth.

If you enable scene-partner audio during recording, that audio may be captured in your final video depending on your device, microphone, speaker, and settings. You are responsible for reviewing your tape before submitting it.

7. Voice Creation, Voice Rental, and Consent

Voice features are consent-first. You may create a voice only using recordings of yourself or recordings for which you have all necessary rights, permissions, and consents. You may not clone, imitate, publish, rent, or use another person's voice without authorization.

  • Marketplace voice listings may require identity, consent, payout, quality, and manual review checks.
  • Rented voices may be used only inside SceneMate for permitted rehearsal, audition preparation, and guided self-tape cue workflows.
  • You may not download, extract, resell, redistribute, impersonate with, or create misleading endorsements using a rented or created voice.
  • We may suspend or remove voice profiles, listings, rentals, or usage if we believe consent, safety, rights, law, or platform rules may be violated.
  • Marketplace pricing, revenue share, usage caps, payout timing, and availability may change with notice where required.

8. Rewards and SceneMatePoints

Rewards, SceneMatePoints, token-linked benefits, estimated values, claims, monthly caps, and withdrawal requests are promotional and experimental features unless otherwise stated in writing. Points may have no cash value, may be subject to limits, may require opt-in, and may be modified, paused, reversed, or discontinued.

Any estimated value shown in the Service is informational only and is not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. You are responsible for any wallet, tax, regulatory, or reporting obligations that may apply to you.

9. Your Content and Rights

"User Content" includes scripts, recordings, videos, voice samples, consent samples, notes, audition materials, comments, profile information, and any other content you submit to SceneMate. You keep ownership of your User Content.

You grant SageMaster a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, transmit, display, analyze, transform, and create technical derivatives of your User Content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and provide the Service, including auditions, rehearsals, self-tapes, voice features, support, and compliance.

You represent that you have all rights needed to upload, share, rehearse, perform, record, submit, publish, or otherwise use your User Content in SceneMate.

10. SceneMate Intellectual Property

SceneMate, SageMaster, our logos, designs, software, workflows, interfaces, documentation, scoring systems, marketplace systems, and other Service materials are owned by SageMaster or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you ownership in the Service or permission to use our branding without written consent.

11. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use SceneMate for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes.
  • Upload or share content you do not have rights to use.
  • Violate any person's privacy, publicity, voice, likeness, or intellectual property rights.

  • Use SceneMate to create deceptive, defamatory, exploitative, hateful, sexual, harassing, or unsafe content.
  • Attempt to bypass licensing, usage caps, entitlement checks, security controls, or feature restrictions.
  • Scrape, reverse engineer, overload, interfere with, or attempt unauthorized access to the Service.

12. Copyright and Takedown Requests

If you believe content in SceneMate infringes your copyright or other rights, contact us at hello@scenemate.actor with enough detail for us to identify the content, your rights, your contact information, and the action requested. We may remove, restrict, or disable content and accounts where appropriate.

13. Third-Party Services

SceneMate relies on third-party services for hosting, storage, authentication, payments, app distribution, analytics, AI processing, communication, and media processing. We are not responsible for third-party outages, terms, policies, decisions, fees, or conduct, but we work to use reputable providers and appropriate safeguards.

14. Termination and Suspension

You may stop using SceneMate at any time and may request account deletion through available product controls or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created risk, failed to pay, infringed rights, misused voice features, abused auditions, or caused harm to users, SageMaster, or the Service.

Sections intended to survive termination will survive, including payment obligations, intellectual property, user content licenses needed for prior operation, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity, dispute terms, and compliance obligations.

18. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and the federal laws of the United States applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
