Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how SageMaster Corporation ("SageMaster," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, stores, and protects personal information when you use SceneMate. 1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to SceneMate websites, mobile applications, auditions, rehearsals, guided self-tapes, voice features, rewards features, subscriptions, marketplaces, support, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

Depending on where you live, privacy laws such as Canada's PIPEDA, Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act, United States state privacy laws, and other local laws may provide additional rights. We aim to handle personal information reasonably, transparently, and only for appropriate purposes.

2. Information We Collect

Account and profile information

We collect information you provide when creating or managing an account, such as name, email address, username, profile details, account settings, subscription status, team membership, and authentication identifiers.

Scripts, roles, scenes, and rehearsal data

We collect scripts you upload, parsed script structure, characters, scenes, dialogue lines, selected roles, rehearsal sessions, line attempts, accuracy scores, feedback, chat messages, notes, progress analytics, and related metadata.

Audition information

We collect audition titles, instructions, assigned roles and scenes, expiry dates, invitee emails, invite status, license allocation status, submissions, review notes, ratings, shortlist or callback decisions, and related activity records.

Self-tapes and media

We collect videos, slate metadata, selected scripts/scenes/roles, readout settings, audition context, upload metadata, playback access records, and actor notes that you choose to submit.

Voice information

If you use voice features, we may collect voice samples, consent recordings, consent transcripts, display names, tags, listing details, review status, rental status, usage events, generated line counts, payout setup status, and marketplace earnings records.

Rewards and wallet information

If you opt into rewards, we collect opt-in status, points ledger entries, monthly claim counters, withdrawal requests, wallet addresses you provide, estimated values, status history, and related audit records.

Payments and commercial records

We collect subscription, invoice, transaction, tax, marketplace payout, refund, cancellation, and billing status information. We do not store full payment card numbers.

Device, log, and usage data

We may collect device type, browser, operating system, app version, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, timestamps, pages visited, feature usage, crash logs, diagnostics, security events, and cookie or similar technology data.

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide, operate, secure, and improve SceneMate.
  • Create accounts, authenticate users, and manage access.
  • Parse scripts and organize scenes, characters, and dialogue.
  • Run rehearsals, scoring, feedback, progress tracking, and coaching features.
  • Record, upload, store, play back, and submit self-tapes.
  • Create and manage auditions, invitations, submissions, reviews, and license allocations.
  • Provide voice creation, voice assignment, voice rental, consent review, usage tracking, and marketplace payouts.
  • Operate rewards, points ledgers, monthly caps, and withdrawal requests.
  • Process subscriptions, payments, taxes, refunds, marketplace earnings, and billing support.
  • Send transactional messages such as audition invites, account notices, receipts, security alerts, and support responses.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, rights violations, and prohibited conduct.
  • Comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms, and protect users, SageMaster, and the public.
  • Create aggregated or de-identified analytics that do not reasonably identify you.

4. AI, Voice, and Automated Processing

SceneMate uses automated systems and service providers to support script parsing, rehearsal responses, scoring, coaching, text and audio processing, voice playback, voice creation, readouts, moderation, fraud prevention, and support. These systems may process script text, dialogue, rehearsal inputs, voice samples, consent samples, self-tape metadata, or other feature-specific data when needed to provide the Service.

We do not intend for AI-assisted outputs to make final casting, employment, eligibility, credit, housing, insurance, legal, or similarly significant decisions. Casting decisions remain with the casting director or production using SceneMate.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information as follows:

  • With service providers: vendors that help with hosting, storage, authentication, security, analytics, communications, payments, app distribution, AI processing, media processing, voice processing, and support.
  • With users you interact with: scripts, auditions, submissions, tapes, notes, scores, reviews, and profile details may be visible to directors, actors, team members, or invitees according to the feature and permissions you choose.
  • With marketplace participants: voice owners, renters, and payout providers may receive marketplace information needed to operate rentals, usage limits, earnings, and payouts.
  • For legal and safety reasons: when we believe disclosure is required by law, legal process, rights enforcement, safety, fraud prevention, or protection of users, SageMaster, or others.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections where applicable.

6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies, local storage, device identifiers, and similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, analytics, feature flags, performance, and fraud prevention. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may prevent parts of SceneMate from working.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain your account, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and operate audit records. Retention periods vary by data type.

  • Scripts, rehearsals, self-tapes, and auditions are generally retained while your account or relevant workspace remains active, unless deleted earlier.
  • Voice consent records, marketplace records, payout records, and usage events may be retained longer to document consent, entitlement, safety, and financial history.
  • Billing, tax, accounting, security, and legal records may be retained as required or permitted by law.
  • Deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for a limited time before being overwritten or purged.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, authentication, encryption in transit, encryption or protected storage where appropriate, audit records, and monitoring. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure, and you are responsible for keeping your account credentials and devices secure.

9. International Transfers

SageMaster is based in Alberta and Delaware, and our service providers may process information in Canada, the United States, and other countries. These countries may have privacy laws that differ from your location. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

10. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, object to, or withdraw consent for certain processing of your personal information. You may also have rights to opt out of certain sharing or targeted advertising where applicable. We will respond to valid requests as required by law.

  • You can update profile information in your account settings.
  • You can delete certain content using available product controls.
  • You can manage subscriptions through the applicable billing channel.
  • You can opt into or out of rewards where the feature is available.
  • You can request privacy assistance by emailing hello@scenemate.actor.

We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests. Some information may be retained if required for legal, security, financial, consent, dispute, or audit purposes.

11. Voice, Likeness, and Consent Rights

Voice samples and consent samples can be sensitive. We use them to create, verify, review, operate, and audit voice features. If you publish a voice listing, certain listing details, tags, display names, demos, and marketplace status may be visible to other users. You may unpublish a listing, but historical records may be retained for safety, consent, payment, and legal reasons.

12. Children and Minors

SceneMate is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 provided personal information, please contact us. Users under the age of majority in their jurisdiction should use SceneMate only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

13. Marketing Communications

We may send service announcements, security notices, audition invites, billing notices, support messages, and other transactional communications. If we send marketing emails, you may opt out using the unsubscribe instructions, but you may still receive transactional messages.

14. Do Not Track and Preference Signals

Some browsers send "Do Not Track" or similar signals. Because there is no single accepted standard, SceneMate may not respond to every such signal. Where legally required, we will honor applicable opt-out preference signals.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service, email, or another appropriate method. The updated policy will be effective when posted unless stated otherwise.
